Karnataka: Yesterday, on Dec 12th, the Karnataka High Court stepped away from tradition by delivering a judgment in Kannada, alongside English. The division bench, comprising Justices Krishna S Dixit and CM Joshi, announced its decision on a matter related to granting probate of a will.
Notably, the judgment was authored in both Kannada and English, showcasing a commitment to preserving the regional language. Before pronouncing the order, Justice Dixit remarked,
“We in fact, want to set a new trend… If Kannada is not to die out, then Kannada should be recognised.”
