Justice Ajay Digpaul & Justice Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar Sworn In as Delhi High Court Judges

Today, On 8th January, Justices Ajay Digpaul and Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar were sworn in as Delhi High Court judges in a ceremony held on the court premises. The oath was administered by Acting Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru. The event marks the formal induction of the two judges into their new roles. Their appointment is expected to further strengthen the judicial capacity of the Delhi High Court.

New Delhi: Today, On January 8, 2025, Justices Ajay Digpaul and Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar took their oaths of office as judges of the Delhi High Court, bringing the total number of judges in the court to 37.

The oath was administered by Acting Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru during a ceremony held at the high court premises.

The appointments officially notified by the Central government on January 6, 2025, following a recommendation from the Supreme Court Collegium made in August of the previous year.

With the addition of these two judges, the Delhi High Court now operates with 37 judges, out of a sanctioned strength of 60.

Justice Ajay Digpaul is a newly appointed judge of the Delhi High Court. Before becoming a judge, he worked as a senior advocate with wide experience in constitutional, civil, and commercial law. Known for his strong legal knowledge and clear arguments, he represented many important clients and handled major cases during his career.

His appointment as a judge is expected to add valuable expertise and a balanced perspective to the Delhi High Court.

Justice Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar is a newly appointed judge of the Delhi High Court. Before becoming a judge, he worked as a senior advocate with knowledge in constitutional, civil, and commercial law. Known for his strong legal skills and practical approach, he handled many important cases and represented well-known clients.

His appointment is expected to add strength to the Delhi High Court and make a positive impact on the legal system.
