Today, On 19th September, The Delhi High Court issued a notice to Puja Khedkar in connection with a perjury case related to the UPSC. The notice pertains to allegations of providing false information during proceedings. The court’s action follows a review of the claims against Khedkar, highlighting potential legal repercussions.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) filed a petition with the Delhi High Court on Thursday against Pooja Khedkar, a disqualified IAS probationary officer, accusing her of perjury for submitting false documents to obtain favourable court orders.
According to the UPSC, Khedkar allegedly attempted to manipulate the judicial process by submitting a misleading affidavit. They argued that the false statements were made with the intent to secure a favourable decision from the court.

The UPSC specifically refuted Khedkar’s claim that the Commission collected her biometric data, asserting that this statement completely false and intended to deceive the court. The Commission clarified that it has never collected biometric data (such as fingerprints or eye scans) from any candidate during the personality tests for the civil services examinations and has not conducted any verification attempts based on such information to date.
A bench led by Justice Subramonium Prasad of the Delhi High Court issued a notice to Puja Khedkar, seeking her response in the case, and scheduled the next hearing for September 26. This date coincides with Khedkar’s ongoing anticipatory bail plea, which is also being reviewed by the same bench. Khedkar has already been granted interim protection from arrest in connection with the anticipatory bail request.
The UPSC’s legal team, represented by Senior Advocate Naresh Kaushik and Advocates Vardhman Kaushik, Nishant Gautam, Mayank Sharma, Anand Singh, and Vinay Kaushik, appeared before the court on behalf of the Commission. Puja Khedkar recently applied for anticipatory bail following the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against her, accusing her of “faking her identity to fraudulently avail of attempts beyond the permissible limit” in the UPSC civil services examination.
The Delhi Police registered the FIR based on a complaint filed by the UPSC, naming Puja Manorama Dilip Khedkar as the accused in the case.
