Justice Suresh Kumar Kait praised the Indian Constitution for enabling equal opportunities. He highlighted how even a farm labourer can rise to become a Chief Justice.

Jabalpur: Today, On May 21, In his farewell speech at the Madhya Pradesh High Court, Chief Justice Suresh Kumar Kait, who is stepping down from his position, spoke emotionally about the strength and inclusiveness of the Indian Constitution.

He said that the true beauty of our Constitution lies in the fact that it gives equal opportunity to everyone, no matter their background.

he said, while addressing a gathering at the court premises,

“The beauty of the Indian Constitution is that a person who started as a farm labourer can become the chief justice of a high court,”

Justice Kait also paid heartfelt tribute to the architect of the Constitution, Dr B.R. Ambedkar.

He pointed out how Ambedkar’s vision has helped create a society where people from different social and economic backgrounds can reach top positions in the judiciary.

“Because of Dr B R Ambedkar’s vision, someone from a family of farmers and the son of a former President could take oath as HC judges on the same day,”

Justice Kait’s words reflected deep respect for the Constitution and the values it protects.

He further mentioned how the legal system, thanks to Dr Ambedkar, has provided a level playing field for everyone, regardless of their caste, class, or financial status.

“Ambedkar ensured normality for everyone in the country,”

he concluded, giving credit to Ambedkar for shaping a society where justice and opportunity are available to all citizens.

Justice Kait’s farewell speech served as a reminder of how far India has come in terms of social justice and equal rights, and how the Constitution continues to empower people from all walks of life.

His emotional message stands as an inspiration for future generations in the legal field.
