EXCLUSIVE | Bar President's Unprecedented 'Belt Treatment' Stirs Attention At Farewell of MP HC Chief Justice

Jabalpur: The then Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court Ravi Malimath retired on 24 May. Acting Chief Justice Sheel Nagu will replace him. A farewell was organized for Justice Ravi Malimath on 24 May. During this, he also addressed the people, in which he said that we have many enemies. At the same time, another video of this farewell is going viral, in which a lawyer has hit a four in front of the judge.

He has presented his point with love. Along with this, he has expressed the pain of lawyers in the court.

The cases gets dismissed

During the farewell ceremony, Madhya Pradesh Advocates Association President DK Jain was speaking. He said in front of the former Chief Justice and other judges of the High Court that some judges of our court talk to advocates in indecent language. They dismiss the case on small matters.

This is against the dignity of the judges. An advocate cannot appear in more than one court. In such a situation, instead of passing over the cases, the cases are dismissed. This is becoming a common thing.

The case number is not available

He said that even after waiting for hours in the filing section, the number does not come. If there is a default, then after correction there is no guarantee as to when the case will be taken up. He said that if any advocate does not correct it within seven days, then many cases are being dismissed at once.

Whereas there are thousands of such cases in the court which are pending awaiting hearing. Their number does not come. He has asked the judges whether this rule is fair.

The President of the Advocates’ Association also told the judges that the High Court is more interested in burdening the common man with cases instead of giving justice to them. He also advised that judges should be deputed in the filing section itself. He said that this year the MP High Court has extended the summer vacations by five to ten days, when the vacations are over, the schools will open.

I know that you would not have done this only on your own. The former President of our Bar has also always stood shoulder to shoulder with you, so the people of the Bar have given me an opportunity to tell you about my truth.

Will you listen to our pain?

Along with this, the President of the Advocates Association said that we hope that you will listen to our pain. You have the ability to solve our problems in minutes.

It is a tradition here that whenever the elders of our house go out of the house, they give gifts to the children.

Former Chief Justice reply

At the same time, in his farewell speech, the former Chief Justice of MP High Court had said big things. He had said that we have many enemies but they have failed miserably in affecting our career. Along with this, he said that I have always served the Constitution.
