According to her claim, four bullets hit her head, and the attacker used at least three fully-loaded revolvers and one fully-loaded machine gun.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has rejected a petition filed by a woman who challenged the dismissal of her case, where she claimed that she survived multiple bullet wounds to the head by using homeopathy medicine.

Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani ruled against the woman’s plea, upholding the decisions of both the Sessions Court and the trial court. The High Court observed that her submissions lacked clarity and logic.

“Regrettably … this court is unable to discern any coherence or cogency in the submissions made by the petitioner, much less has this court found any reason to fault the dismissal of the complaint by the learned Magistrate vide order dated 20.09.2012; and the dismissal of the revision petition by the learned Sessions Court vide order dated 18.10.2012. Accordingly, this court finds no reason to interfere with impugned order dated 18.10.2012 passed by the learned Sessions Court in CR No. 483/12 or order dated 20.09.2012 made by the learned Magistrate,”

the Court stated in its judgment.

Background

The woman first moved the trial court with a complaint in which she alleged that in 2009, an unknown person sexually assaulted her on a public road and then shot her more than 25 times. According to her claim, four bullets hit her head, and the attacker used at least three fully-loaded revolvers and one fully-loaded machine gun.

However, she made an extraordinary claim that she healed completely after taking homeopathic medicine on her own. She asserted that the bullets lodged in her head and hands came out by themselves simply because she consumed a few homeopathic tablets.

The Sessions Court, which had earlier dismissed her case, found her claims too unrealistic to believe. The court had stated that her story resembled a fictional tale.

“The bullets lodged in her head and hands had come out of their own merely on account of petitioner consuming of couple of homeopathic tablets,”

the Sessions Court noted while rejecting her claims.

After her case was dismissed by the trial court, she moved the Sessions Court, which also rejected her plea in 2012. Following this, she filed a petition in the Delhi High Court in 2013, which has now also been dismissed.

The Delhi High Court found no reason to interfere with the trial court’s and Sessions Court’s decisions and dismissed the woman’s petition.

The petitioner, who argued her case in person, failed to convince the court to overturn the earlier verdicts.

Additional Public Prosecutor Digam Singh Dagar represented the State, while Standing Counsel Nishant Gautam appeared for the Central government.
