NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court’s Secretariat of the Committee for Designation of Senior Advocates has published lists of lawyers newly designated as Senior Advocates and those whose applications have been deferred.
As per the official announcement, 70 lawyers have been designated as Senior Advocates, while the decision on 67 others has been deferred.
The Delhi High Court’s Permanent Committee recommended 71 lawyers for designation as Senior Advocates after interviewing over 300 candidates.
“Following the resolution passed by the Full Court in its meeting on November 29, 2024, the Chief Justice has approved the designation of 70 advocates (listed in Annexure-Y) as ‘Senior Advocate’ under Section 16(2) of the Advocates Act, 1961,” the official notification states.
Applications of candidates scoring between 65 and 69 marks have been deferred.
The Committee includes Chief Justice Manmohan, Justice Vibhu Bakhru, Justice Yashwant Varma, Additional Solicitor General Chetan Sharma, and Senior Advocates Sudhir Nandrajog and Mohit Mathur.
