This order was given by Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora on March 27, 2025. The judge gave permission after the settlement agreement between HR Pictures (the film’s producer) and Ivy Entertainment Private Limited (one of the distributors) was officially recorded by the Court.
Earlier on the same day, the Court had stopped the film from releasing. But later, both parties came to the Court together and informed the judge that they had reached a mutual settlement. They showed the agreement, and based on that, the judge changed the earlier decision.
The Court said:
“Accordingly, in view of the settlement, the injunction order passed earlier today in I.A. 7657/2025 is hereby vacated and defendant is at liberty to release the assigned film with immediate effect ie 27.03.2025.”
This legal issue started because there was a disagreement between the film’s producer and the distributor about handing over digital, theatrical, and other copyright materials before the film’s release.
According to Ivy Entertainment, the producer HR Pictures had a duty to give all required rights at least 14 days before the release date. But Ivy claimed that HR Pictures did not do this, which caused the problem.
On the other hand, HR Pictures told the Court that Ivy Entertainment already knew the film’s release date since January 2025.
They alleged that Ivy waited till the very last moment to go to Court only to
“pressurize the producer to bargain a better monetary deal.”
In this case, Senior Advocate Darpan Wadhwa appeared for Ivy Entertainment along with advocates Sanampreet Singh, Suraj Dhawan and Vipul Jain.
HR Pictures was represented by advocates Utsav Trivedi, Himanshu Sachdeva, and Anudatt Dubey from TAS Law.
With the legal fight now resolved, the film Veera Deera Sooran is now free to hit the screens starting March 27, 2025.
