Yesterday, On 10th September, The Jharkhand High Court directed that no coercive action be taken against BJP leaders in connection with the BJYM rally case. The leaders were accused of violating certain regulations during the rally. The court’s order provides temporary relief to the leaders while the case continues. Further legal proceedings will determine the outcome of the matter.

Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday directed that no coercive action be taken against BJP state president Babulal Marandi and other senior leaders involved in a case linked to their participation in a rally.

Marandi, along with Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri, Union Minister Sanjay Seth, and former minister Arjun Munda, among those named in an FIR filed on August 24 at the Lalpur police station.

The case involved a clash with police during a Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) rally in Ranchi on August 23.

The altercation occurred when BJYM workers broke police barricades while protesting against the Hemant Soren government’s alleged “injustice” and failure to fulfill election promises.

The police responded with tear gas, water cannons, and rubber bullets to disperse the crowd. Both the protesters and police reported several injuries during the confrontation.

The court’s decision temporarily shields the BJP leaders from any immediate arrest or legal action while the case proceeds. The ruling is significant, given the political sensitivity of the case and the high-profile nature of the individuals involved. It also reflects the ongoing tensions between the BJP and the ruling coalition in Jharkhand, led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

The legal proceedings will continue as the court examines the details of the case, but for now, the BJP leaders are protected from any direct coercive action.
