Another Bomb Threat to Bombay High Court: Mumbai Police Conduct Thorough Security Checks Amid Rising Threats

MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court received another bomb threat email on Friday, prompting swift action from the Mumbai Police and security teams. The email triggered immediate searches across the High Court premises and surrounding areas, though authorities confirmed that no suspicious object was found.

Following the email, security personnel quickly conducted thorough checks of the building. Fortunately, the court was empty at the time, and no evacuation was necessary. This prompt response ensured minimal disruption to court operations while maintaining safety.

Authorities continue to investigate the origin of the email, with both police and cybercrime units involved. The incident reflects the growing need for vigilant security protocols at public institutions, especially courts.

This latest threat is not an isolated case. Similar hoax emails targeting courts and other public institutions have been reported recently, causing temporary panic and disruptions:

  • September 12: The Bombay High Court received a threat email, forcing a two-hour evacuation. Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court was also targeted the same morning with claims of three planted IEDs.
  • September 13: Two Delhi hospitals, Max Dwarka and Max Shalimar Bagh, along with the Taj Palace Hotel, received bomb threat emails. Security operations confirmed these were hoaxes.
  • September 15: The Gujarat High Court received its third bomb threat since June. Police inspections confirmed all were false alarms.

While these threats have turned out to be hoaxes, they raise serious concerns about security and the potential for disruption. Courts, hospitals, and public spaces remain vigilant, with authorities emphasizing the need for quick reporting and response.
