Today, On 19th September, The Allahabad High Court granted bail to Mukhtar Ansari’s son, Umar Ansari, in a case alleging he submitted fake documents and forged his mother’s signature to reclaim land confiscated under the Gangster Act. He was earlier arrested in Lucknow.
The Allahabad High Court accepted the bail application of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari’s son, Umar Ansari, in a case connected to fake documents and alleged forgery.
The case is linked to the release of land that was confiscated under the Gangster Act.
The order on Umar Ansari’s bail plea was delivered by Justice Gautam Chaudhary.
According to the case details, it is alleged that Umar Ansari submitted fake documents and forged his mother’s signature to get the land confiscated under the Gangster Act released from the court. Police had arrested Umar Ansari from Lucknow in connection with the matter and sent him to jail.

With the High Court now granting him bail, Umar Ansari will be released in the case, though the allegations of forgery and use of fake documents remain part of the ongoing proceedings.
The allegations state that Umar Ansari forged documents and his mother Afsa Ansari’s signature to reclaim a property that had been seized under the Gangster Act.
A criminal case was filed against him at the Mohammadabad police station in Ghazipur district, claiming he created counterfeit documents and signatures to facilitate the release of the confiscated property from the court.
Recently, police apprehended Umar Ansari in Lucknow in connection with this case, leading to his incarceration.
After his bail plea was denied by the lower court, he approached the high court, seeking an order for his release on bail during the trial.
Umar was arrested in the first week of August 2025 because he submitted a petition before the court seeking release of property that had earlier been seized under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act.

The late Mukhtar Ansari’s properties were seized under the Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act. He passed away due to a cardiac arrest on March 28, 2024. Mukhtar had previously been sentenced to ten years in prison for the 2005 murder of a BJP MLA and received a life sentence for securing an arms license through forged documents.
Umar’s elder brother, Abbas Ansari, was removed from the Uttar Pradesh Assembly after being convicted for hate speech and currently faces several ongoing criminal cases.
