Actor Allu Arjun has filed a petition in the Telangana High Court to quash an FIR against him following the death of a woman during the premiere of his movie, Pushpa 2. The woman died from asphyxiation as chaos ensued at the event, raising concerns over crowd management and safety protocols. He seeks to pause all related legal proceedings.

Hyderabad: Popular actor Allu Arjun has approached the Telangana High Court, requesting the quashing of an FIR filed against him following the tragic death of a woman during the premiere of his highly anticipated movie, Pushpa 2. The incident occurred at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4, where a massive crowd had gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor.

The 35-year-old woman tragically died of asphyxiation, while her eight-year-old son was hospitalized after the chaotic premiere. The FIR, registered at Chikkadpally police station on December 5, names Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management. It cites violations under Sections 105 and 118 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on a complaint filed by the family of the deceased woman.

As part of their investigation, police have already arrested three individuals connected to the incident, including one of the theatre’s owners, its senior manager, and the lower balcony in-charge.

In his petition, Allu Arjun has sought a stay on all further proceedings related to the FIR, including any potential arrest, until the High Court delivers a verdict on the matter. The court is expected to take up the actor’s plea in the coming days.

The actor, known for his iconic performances and massive fan base, has expressed his condolences and support for the victim’s family. Earlier, he announced a financial assistance package of Rs 25 lakh for the bereaved family.

The death has raised questions about crowd management and safety measures at such high-profile events. Legal experts have noted that cases involving celebrities often bring complex dynamics of public sentiment and legal accountability. While the FIR implicates Allu Arjun and others, the High Court’s decision on the matter is awaited with great interest.

This case serves as a reminder of the importance of stringent safety protocols at public events, especially those involving prominent figures, to prevent such tragedies in the future.

Fans and the general public alike are now watching the legal developments closely, as the Telangana High Court takes up the case.
