An intern at IIT Madras was allegedly sexually harassed by a food court staff member on campus. Taking serious note, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo motu cognisance of the reported assault case.

Uttar Pradesh has implemented an ordinance that eliminates anticipatory bail for serious crimes, including rape, to uphold a zero-tolerance approach towards grave offenses. On 17th May, The Delhi Police responded to bomb threat concerns in schools by deploying bomb disposal squads and detection teams, conducting 120 mock drills, and issuing comprehensive guidelines. They have a total of 5 bomb disposal squads and 18 bomb detection teams to cover over 4,600 schools. The Directorate of Education is also actively involved in promoting school safety.
