Despite existing laws, they emphasized the need for comprehensive and coordinated efforts to create a safer environment for women.

Madras HC Directs to Conduct Women Lawyers Association Elections in T.N Bar Council

The Madras High Court directed the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry (BCTNP) to conduct Women Lawyers Association (WLA) elections by September 30, 2024. The court required the transfer of administration information and membership list to the BCTNP within two weeks, emphasizing timely future elections to avoid delays. If not held by the deadline, a woman special officer may be appointed.
