New Delhi, March 11 – The Delhi High Court on Tuesday stated that top wrestlers like Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat, and Sakshi Malik could challenge the Centre’s decision to revoke the suspension of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).
Today(on 9th April), The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in response to a plea filed by the Wrestling Federation of India. The plea challenges the suspension of WFI, with the next hearing scheduled for May 28. This legal confrontation has significant implications for sports administration in India.
Today(on 2nd April), The Delhi High Court heard a petition from wrestlers Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, and Satyawart Kadian regarding issues with the Wrestling Federation of India. The court directed the Centre and IOA to clarify their stance post-IOA committee dissolution. Justice Sachin Datta stressed the need for clarity and requested IOA’s explanation on the committee dissolution, setting the next hearing for April 10.
