The Bar Council of India (BCI) issued a strong warning against the spread of fake news regarding a lawyers’ strike on February 12, 2025. The BCI clarified that no such strike has been called and that false information is being circulated to mislead lawyers and tarnish the reputation of its Chairman, Manan Kumar Mishra. It has announced plans to file an FIR against those responsible and urged lawyers not to believe or share such misleading posts on social media.
