Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar reignites debate on judicial powers, citing Justice HR Khanna’s bold dissent during the Emergency. He asserts Parliament’s supremacy and criticizes recent Supreme Court interventions.
VP Jagdeep Dhankhar Today (April 22) said Parliament is the top authority and MPs control the Constitution. He warned Article 142 is being misused as a “nuclear missile” by the judiciary.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar asserted that only the original Indian Constitution, which includes 22 miniature illustrations, should be in circulation, rejecting alterations by non-parliamentary bodies. His statements followed concerns from BJP MP Dr. Agarwal about the absence of illustrations of significant historical figures. Dhankhar stressed the cultural importance and urged immediate action to preserve the original document.
