Today, On 11th August, Supreme Court directed the Delhi government to “submit a detailed report explaining how bail was granted and how the state opposed it” in cases linked to a large-scale interstate child trafficking racket involving kidnapped children sold across several states.
A court has sentenced three men to life imprisonment for the gangrape of a minor, stressing the need for strict punishment. The judge stated, “Only the worst punishment will convey the message to the community,” highlighting the severity of the crime and its societal impact.

Emphasizing the importance of overall evidence, the court ruled that physical injuries are not the sole determinant of sexual assault cases.
Today, On 7th February, The Supreme Court ruled that relatives of an accused cannot be implicated in domestic violence cases under Section 498A simply for not assisting the victim. The Court emphasized that complaints and charges must be specific against each accused family member. It stated that vague or general allegations are not sufficient for prosecution. This decision aims to prevent misuse of the law and ensure fairness in such cases.
Today, On 4th November, Sanjay Roy, accused in the RG Kar rape case, claims he has been framed as trial proceedings are set to start on November 11. The charges against him include serious allegations supported by digital and material evidence, including CCTV footage and forensic findings linking him to the crime scene involving a murdered trainee doctor.
Yesterday, On 30th October, the CBI reported to the Calcutta High Court on the illegal hiring practices at RG Kar Medical College under former principal Dr. Sandip Ghosh. Ghosh allegedly held fictitious interviews, manipulated results, and conducted appointments based on favoritism and corruption, raising serious concerns about transparency and fairness in recruitment.
