India hasn’t seen a census since 2011. The Modi government now plans a major caste census, promising digital data collection to ensure transparency, social clarity, and better policymaking for the country’s future needs.
Today, On 30th April, The Modi government has approved a caste-based census as part of the national population count. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, “Data will be collected in a transparent & structured manner” during the once-in-a-decade exercise.
Today, On 27th November, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stressed the urgent need to strengthen laws addressing vulgar content on social media during a Lok Sabha session on November 27. He called for stricter regulations and emphasized the absence of effective editorial checks, highlighting the risks posed by uncontrolled online material. Stronger legal measures are necessary to ensure safer digital spaces.
