Madras: The Madras High Court has directed the Tamil Nadu Crime Branch-Crime Investigation Department (CBCID) to conduct an in-depth investigation into allegations against a fake law firm, “JMI Law Associates,” and its representatives. The allegations involve murky land transactions in the Mylapore area of Chennai.
Amit Vyas, representing Coldplay fans in India, has filed a criminal complaint with Mumbai’s Economic Offences Wing against BookMyShow and Live Nation, alleging ticketing fraud for the band’s upcoming concerts. He claims unethical practices and manipulation enabled ticket bots to thrive, depriving genuine fans of access and leading to inflated resale prices.
Today(7th May): The Supreme Court ruled that celebrities and influencers are equally responsible for endorsing misleading advertisements. They emphasized the need for transparency in paid endorsements and stated that endorsers, advertisers, and advertising agencies share equal responsibility. The Court issued directions to promote accountability, including the submission of self-declaration forms by advertisers and TV broadcasters.
