Today, On 11th December, The Supreme Court allowed Ashish Mishra, son of former Union Minister Ajay Mishra and accused in the 2021 Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, to visit his hometown from December 25 to 31 to support his daughter before her Class 12 exams.
Today (6th May): The Supreme Court directed the Maharashtra government to implement recommendations from the 1992-93 Mumbai riots case, including handling pending cases, compensating missing victims’ families, and police reforms. It mandated the establishment of a Special Cell to locate accused individuals, urged housing facilities for police personnel, and established a monitoring committee for directive enforcement.
Today(on 22nd April), The Supreme Court expressed concern over Ashish Mishra, the prime accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri case, allegedly violating his bail conditions by attending events in Uttar Pradesh. Mishra, son of a Union Minister, had been granted bail on the condition of only visiting for trial. The court also criticized the lack of cooperation in trial proceedings.
