NEW DELHI: On January 15, 2025, the Supreme Court showed a tendency to transfer petitions challenging the results of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 to the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
The Supreme Court, under Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, will no longer schedule regular hearing matters on Wednesdays and Thursdays, focusing instead on miscellaneous matters like bail pleas on these days. This decision aims to address the backlog of 83,410 cases and represents a significant administrative change since Khanna’s appointment.
The Supreme Court refused to hear a petition for investigating irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 exam by ED and CBI, scheduling the next hearing for July 8. It stayed proceedings on related cases in multiple high courts and issued notices to transfer them to the Supreme Court for consolidated consideration. The court also addressed other petitions regarding the exam.
