A complaint has been filed in the Kota Consumer Court against Bollywood actor Salman Khan over his pan masala advertisement, alleging that as a role model, he should not promote such products that send a wrong message to the youth.
Today, On 8th April, During a hearing on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) highlighting the rise in crimes against women, particularly rape cases, the Supreme Court made a strong appeal to the government. The bench stated, “Leave the women alone in this country; let them grow,” urging authorities to broaden sensitisation efforts. The Court stressed the urgent need for awareness and prevention measures. It emphasized that protecting women’s rights and dignity must be a national priority.
A High Court advocate raised concerns on social media about the illegal sale of cigarettes in Mumbai’s Fort area, which is officially a ‘No Smoking’ zone. The lawyer questioned how tobacco licenses were issued despite the smoking ban in the area. The post sparked public debate, urging authorities to take action against unlawful cigarette sales. In response, the BMC acknowledged the issue and assured necessary steps would be taken.
