A Delhi court witnessed chaos as a convict and his lawyer abused and threatened a woman judge after a cheque bounce conviction. The judge stood firm and vowed legal action against the threats.
The Delhi High Court Today warned the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to disburse salaries, pensions, and arrears in line with the 7th Central Pay Commission’s recommendations or face dissolution. The Court expressed frustration over MCD’s financial instability and corruption, and rejected requests for intervention, urging the MCD to rectify its internal affairs promptly.
The National Green Tribunal has warned Bihar’s chief secretary to provide information on Ganga water pollution within six weeks, threatening personal appearance otherwise. This directive came during proceedings on pollution prevention in the Ganga within Bihar. The tribunal had initiated action on the pollution matter in five states last year. Review is set for May 1.
