Bombay High Court Issues Notice on Abu Salem’s Plea for Sentence Remission and Early Release

MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court has issued a notice to the Union of India regarding a petition filed by gangster Abu Salem, who is seeking remission of his sentence and premature release from prison. Salem has been serving his sentence for his involvement in the 1993 Bombay blasts and claims to have completed over 25 years of imprisonment as per the terms of his extradition from Portugal.

1993 Train Blast Case: TADA Court Acquitted Abdul Karim Tunda

Abdul Karim Tunda, linked to the 1993 train blasts and affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, has been acquitted, citing lack of evidence. Two others were found guilty. Tunda, associated with Dawood Ibrahim, had faced charges for orchestrating bombings in several cities. His 1997 Rohtak blast acquittal was also due to insufficient evidence.
