Today, On 3rd December, The Supreme Court of India has raised concerns over vacant medical seats and urged the Central Government to consult stakeholders for solutions. Highlighting the high demand for healthcare professionals, the court stressed the importance of ensuring all seats are filled. It called for streamlined admission processes and better resource utilization in medical education. This move aims to address gaps and improve access to healthcare across the country.
The Supreme Court remarked that the ultimate objective of imparting quality education to children is to ensure that they become good citizens who are aware of ethos and values of the Constitution of India. The Court made the remark while hearing a Writ Petition filed by activist Tushar Gandhi in the wake of an incident where a child in Muzaffarnagar was assaulted by his classmates on the instruction of their teacher.
The Supreme Court today (21st Oct) has criticized the Karnataka government for “harassing” students by conducting board examinations for classes 8 to 10, prohibiting the declaration of results until further notice. This follows the withdrawal of a circular for board exams in several rural districts, while exams proceeded in others. The court seeks detailed examination process information within four weeks.

The Delhi government will bring a new law to regulate coaching centres in the national capital after flooding horror claimed lives of three UPSC aspirants, said AAP minister Atishi. “Delhi government will constitute committee comprising officials, students to formulate regulations for coaching centres,” she said.
