Calcutta High Court Today (Aug 21) emphasized the significance of the Supreme Court’s involvement in the matter, noting, “The Supreme Court in its order has covered all the issues raised here.” The Court further elaborated, “The Supreme Court has issued two orders, with the second one addressing all the matters currently before us.”
A Gujarat teacher was sentenced to 25 years in prison by a special Pocso court for repeatedly raping a minor student, threatening to fail her and harm her family if she reported the abuse. The court also fined him Rs 11,000 and ordered Rs 4 lakh in compensation for the victim.
