The Bar Council of India has proposed the Advocates Protection Bill, 2021, to safeguard lawyers, emphasizing the need for legislation similar to the recently passed Rajasthan Advocates Protection Bill, 2023.
Today, On 4th October, the Delhi High Court demanded reports from the Kalkaji Temple Mahant and local police after a 17-year-old’s death due to an exposed wire. Justice Singh highlighted past safety concerns and ordered accountability for crowd management, emphasizing the need for improved safety protocols at the temple, particularly during festival seasons.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court directed enhanced security for a judge following a suicide incident at Amritsar’s Golden Temple, where an assailant used the judge’s security officer’s gun. The Punjab Police must submit a sealed status report on the investigation, with further hearings scheduled for September 27.

Today, On 9th September, The Delhi High Court granted Dheeraj Wadhawan bail on medical grounds in a CBI case related to a bank fraud. The court reversed the trial court’s order and requested the CBI to provide a status report. The Supreme Court had previously overturned a decision granting bail to Dheeraj and his brother. The CBI had filed a chargesheet, and the trial court had granted default bail.
On Thursday( 18th April),The Madras High Court warned of dismissing the missing person case against Isha Foundation if the petitioner, C. Thirumalai, fails to attend. Thirumalai sought intervention from the High Court after his brother’s disappearance from the foundation. Tamil Nadu Police requested more time to submit a comprehensive status report.
On Tuesday (April 3rd), the Madras High Court issued a directive to the Tamil Nadu government, instructing them to submit a status report regarding the investigation progress into accusations of fund misappropriation intended for housing the impoverished under both the Central government’s Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-G) and the State’s Chief Minister Solar Powered Green Housing Scheme.
