Jaya Prada, Renowned Actress and Politician, Declared “Absconding” by Special Court

Jaya Prada, a former actress and Member of Parliament, has been labeled “absconding” by a special court due to her absence from hearings related to election code violations during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Despite seven non-bailable warrants, she has not appeared before the court, prompting a directive for her compulsory appearance by March 6.

Madras High Court Reserves Orders on Bail Plea of Senthil Balaji

Former minister V Senthil Balaji has filed a plea in the special court seeking discharge from the Enforcement Directorate’s money-laundering case, while maintaining that the allegations against him lack evidence and are unsubstantiated. The judge has accepted the plea and asked the ED to respond by March 4, extending Balaji’s judicial remand till then.
