Plea in Delhi HC Seeks ECI Action Against AAP’s Mahila Samman Scheme

NEW DELHI: On January 10th, A petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court seeking directions for the Election Commission of India (ECI) to act on a complaint related to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s promise of giving Rs 2,100 to women voters under the Mahila Samman Yojana.

Delhi High Court Questions Maintainability of Petition Against AAP’s Poll Promise of Rs.2,100 Stipend for Women

The Delhi High Court, On January 9, 2025 led by Justice Jyoti Singh, questioned the maintainability of a petition by Vijay Kumar challenging the AAP’s promise of a monthly stipend for women before the assembly elections. The petitioner argued the announcement was misleading. The petitioner had also reported this to the Election Commission, seeking urgent action.
