NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court, on Tuesday (21st Jan), emphasized that it cannot “endlessly” continue hearing submissions in the bail pleas of Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam, and others in connection with the February 2020 riots case filed under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
The Delhi High Court has dismissed the bail plea of NSCN-IN leader Alemla Jamir, challenging a trial court’s decision linked to an NIA case. Her requests for bail were denied due to substantial allegations of terrorist activities and risks related to potential flight, with the case moving forward in investigation stages.

The Delhi High Court will on January 7 hear bail pleas of student activists Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam and other accused in the UAPA case related to February, 2020 violence. Justices Navin Chawla and Shalinder Kaur are scheduled to hear the cases. Delhi Police is likely to commence its submissions in the cases.
