“Bail Hearings Under SC/ST Act Must Be Video Recorded, Even in Sexual Crime Cases Against Women & Children”: Delhi HC

The Delhi High Court, under Justice Vikas Mahajan, ruled that video recording of all proceedings, including bail hearings, is mandatory under the SC/ST Act, without exceptions for sexual crimes. The court emphasized that these recordings must be used only for court purposes, ensuring the privacy and protection of victims’ identities.

Sandeshkhali Case: Woman Surrenders to Court, Sent to Judicial Custody

Today, On 14th May A female BJP worker, Piyali Das, surrendered in the Sandeshkhali case, accused of fabricating sexual assault complaints against TMC leaders. The court remanded her to judicial custody for coercing a woman into signing a blank paper.
