Today, On 9th September, Shashi Tharoor challenged a trial court’s summons in a defamation case related to his remark comparing PM Narendra Modi to a scorpion. The Supreme Court, led by CJI DY Chandrachud, assured Tharoor’s counsel that the plea for an urgent hearing would be considered. BJP leader Rajiv Babbar filed the defamation case, claiming the remark hurt Hindu sentiments.
