Despite sporadic assessments with district support, the ASI noted significant unauthorized alterations to the Shahi Jama Masjid. The Varanasi Fast Track Court dismissed the Hindu side’s plea for a new ASI survey of the Gyanvapi complex, as per Advocate Rastogi’s petition. Previously, an ASI survey detected historical artifacts amid claims that a mosque was built over a Hindu temple. Rastogi is considering appealing the decision.
