The court called her request “scandalous” and an attempt to undermine its authority. It ruled that if she was unhappy with the trial court’s decision, she should have legally challenged it instead of accusing the judge. The petition was dismissed, and she was ordered to deposit the fine within four weeks.
Today, On 27th September, the Supreme Court fined Advocate Charanjeet Singh Chanderpal Rs.1 lakh for filing a frivolous contempt plea against the Bar Council of India regarding delayed complaints. The court found his arguments weak and emphasized the need for the BCI to expedite complaint resolutions to maintain legal profession integrity.
