Justice Debangshu Basak of the Calcutta High Court has recused himself from hearing the high-profile RG Kar rape-murder case. The matter will now be reassigned, with a new division bench to continue proceedings.
Kolkata: The elder sister of Sanjay Roy, the man convicted in the RG Kar rape-murder case, revealed on Saturday that the family does not plan to challenge the court’s guilty verdict. The decision was delivered by a Kolkata court, which found Sanjay Roy guilty of the rape and murder of a postgraduate trainee doctor.
