The Gujarat High Court was informed on Friday that the state plans to reclaim about 108 hectares of grazing land from Adani Ports and SEZ Ltd, allocated in 2005. Villagers had contested the allocation, arguing that it left them with insufficient grazing land. The state has committed to replenishing 129 hectares of land for the village’s use.

Today(on 18th March),Ramesh Chandana, a convict in the Bilkis Bano case, has appealed to the Supreme Court to challenge the annulment of his early release by the Gujarat government. Represented by advocate Pashupati Nath Razdan, Chandana questions the Supreme Court’s authority and the impact of transferring the case to another state. The Gujarat government has also filed a review petition against the judgment.
On Wednesday (13th March): Manish Sisodia’s curative petition for bail was rejected by the Supreme Court on March 13, 2024. The petition stemmed from his alleged involvement in the Delhi Excise Policy Scam. An investigation report highlighted financial irregularities, resulting in a First Information Report (FIR) filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Sisodia has been in custody since February 26, 2023.
