Kannada superstar Darshan Thoogudeepa, the main accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, has approached the Karnataka High Court after the police temporarily suspended his arms license. The suspension came soon after he was granted bail, citing possible misuse of the firearm. Darshan argues that his celebrity status puts him at risk, and his arms license is crucial for his and his family’s safety. He has now requested the court to revoke the suspension order, but the case is yet to be heard.
The Karnataka government plans to challenge the High Court’s decision to grant bail to actor Darshan in the Renukaswamy murder case. Senior advocates are preparing to file a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court within three days, seeking to overturn the bail order. This move comes in light of concerns over the court’s ruling and aims to get the decision reviewed at the highest judicial forum.
Today, On 30th October, Actor Darshan was granted six weeks of interim bail on October 30 to receive medical treatment after being arrested for allegedly torturing and murdering a fan. The incident arose from obscenity accusations against the fan by Darshan’s friend, Pavithra Gowda. The court allowed bail due to Darshan’s medical needs, restricting his passport usage.
Yesterday, On 22nd June, Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, along with three others, was remanded to judicial custody until July 4 in connection with the murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy, a fan of the actor. Allegedly, Darshan enlisted a fan club member to carry out the murder. The case continues to unfold, with 17 individuals implicated in the murder.
