The Supreme Court On Thursday(14th Nov) petition concerns DMRC’s claim against DAMEPL for failing to refund deposited funds. Justice KV Viswanathan recused himself from the case. Previously, a 2021 ruling favoring DAMEPL was overturned, reinstating DMRC’s victory. DMRC is now pursuing contempt charges for DAMEPL’s non-compliance with the refund order.
The Himachal Pradesh High Court Set aside a ruling mandating the state to refund over Rs. 280 crore to Adani Power Limited for two hydro-electric projects. The court found that the award to Brakel Corporation was secured through misrepresentation, rendering them ineligible for the refund. Adani’s claim was also rejected due to lack of finalized agreement with the state.
On 6th March: The Delhi High Court has issued a restraining order against Reliance Infrastructure, preventing the sale of $135 million worth of assets amidst a legal battle with Shanghai Electric regarding the Sasan Power Project. The court’s decision aims to retain these assets as security amid an arbitration conflict. This comes despite objections from Reliance Infrastructure, which were dismissed by the court.
