This is not the first incident, as the Supreme Court had previously issued a tender to hire personnel to ward off monkeys trespassing into judges’ bungalows. In 2023, a PIL was filed seeking a committee to address the ‘monkey menace’ in the national capital.
Chief Justice DY Chandrachud today orders the consolidation of Registrar’s Courts, merging them into a full-time court with morning and afternoon sessions, aiming to handle a larger number of matters more effectively. Ms. Sijata Singh will preside over the court regularly. The move is intended to enhance case management in the Supreme Court of India.
