A bench comprising Justices MM Sundresh and Rajesh Bindal pointed out the significant delay in approaching the court. The petition was submitted two-and-a-half years after the High Court’s decision, which the bench found unreasonable. Today, 8th April,The Gujarat HC dismissed pleas by two Sabarmati Ashram residents challenging compensation in the redevelopment project, citing lack of evidence for a hidden fourth option. The residents initially chose cash compensation but failed to vacate on time and then sought a halt to demolition. The court upheld their initial choice.
