NEW DELHI: Today, 23rd April, The Supreme Court of India has dismissed a petition seeking cancellation of the 70th Bihar Public Services Commission (BPSC) Preliminary Exam, which was held in 2025. The exam was accused of a paper leak, but the apex court found no substantial evidence to support the claim.
The Jan Suraaj party, led by Prashant Kishor, filed a petition in the Patna High Court alleging large-scale irregularities in the BPSC exams held on December 13, 2024. They demand cancellation of the exams and action against responsible officials. The controversy has spurred protests among candidates seeking fairness in the examination process.
Today, On 6th January, The NHRC asked Bihar’s Chief Secretary to “take appropriate action” in the case where a BPSC aspirant was slapped. Referring to a viral video of the incident, the NHRC said that Singh’s actions were “not justified.” The commission stressed the importance of holding those responsible accountable. The directive aims to ensure a proper and fair investigation.
