Chandigarh, February 18: The Punjab and Haryana High Court instructed the Punjab government to take a decision on a representation that seeks action against illegal travel agents who are deceiving innocent people by sending them abroad through unlawful means. A bench consisting of Chief Justice Sheel Nagu and Justice Harmeet Singh Grewal issued this directive while disposing of a petition filed by advocate Kanwar Pahul Singh on February 17.
The Supreme Court Today (Sept 24) dismissed the Punjab government’s appeal against a high court verdict quashing its decision to expand the definition of ‘NRI quota’ for admissions in undergraduate medical and dental courses in the state. “This fraud must come to an end now,” the apex court said.
