Today, On 29th August, The Bombay High Court criticized Maharashtra’s retroactive reduction of police protection fees for IPL matches, questioning the leniency shown to the wealthy BCCI in contrast to public utilities pricing. The court reviewed a PIL challenging the decision and instructed the state to justify the fee reduction and outstanding dues waiver. The next hearing is scheduled for October 7.
