NEW DELHI: On January 10th, A petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court seeking directions for the Election Commission of India (ECI) to act on a complaint related to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s promise of giving Rs 2,100 to women voters under the Mahila Samman Yojana.
The Delhi High Court today refrained from giving directives on the proposed Sunehri Bagh Masjid demolition, as the New Delhi Municipal Council assured that the objections of the mosque’s Imam would be considered. The Heritage Committee’s decision is pending, and the court emphasized that no final decision had been made yet.
The Madras High Court restrained the Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying from classifying certain dog breeds as “ferocious” and issuing a ban. The Ministry is prohibited from making a final decision until June 14. The restraining order is a response to a writ petition filed by the Kennel Club of India.
Today, 18th April, The Delhi High Court invalidated a Central government circular banning specific “ferocious dog” breeds due to lack of private stakeholder consultation. They ordered a new circular after public objections were considered. The Karnataka High Court also set aside a similar circular on April 10. The ban included breeds like Pitbull Terrier, Rottweiler, and Mastiffs.
