Today, On 14th November, The Supreme Court agreed to hear interim pleas from Sahara Group employees on November 17 seeking release of their overdue salaries. On the same day, the Court will also take up SICCL’s request to sell 88 prime properties to Adani Properties.
Today, on October 14, Supreme Court sought response from the Union Government and SEBI on Sahara India Commercial Corporation’s plan to sell 88 properties, including Amby Valley and Sahara Seher, to Adani Properties. Hearing listed for November 17.
Supreme Court will hear Sahara India’s plea on Tuesday seeking approval to sell Amby Valley in Maharashtra and Shahara Saher in Lucknow to Adani Properties. Another plea on releasing Sahara Communications employees’ salaries withheld since 2014 will also be heard.
Madhya Pradesh: The Pataudi family’s historic properties, valued at Rs 15,000 crore and associated with Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, are now closer to being taken under government control. The Madhya Pradesh High Court recently ruled to lift a stay placed on these properties in 2015. This decision brings the properties one step closer to possible acquisition under the Enemy Property Act of 1968.
The Supreme Court instructed Sahara Group to disclose its leadership, shareholders, and unencumbered properties for a Rs 10,000 crore refund. The court emphasized the need for a practical solution to refund investors after over a decade. Noting Sahara’s failure to deposit the full amount, the court allowed property sales to meet the refund obligation.
