The Supreme Court Today (May 6th) granted bail to Umar Ansari, son of late gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, in a criminal case registered against him during the 2022 assembly elections for alleged violation of the model code of conduct.

He pushed for inclusion of Section 295A of the Indian Penal Code. The property was acquired in a 2020 auction to establish an “anti-terrorist national front.”
