NEW DELHI: A land dispute case that has been pending for 66 years has finally been decided by a city court in New Delhi. The original parties involved in the case have long passed away, but the case was still being heard until recently. The court ruled that the case was not maintainable in its present form, meaning it could not continue in the way it had been filed.
A Delhi court has set aside a prior ruling that dismissed a cheating case against Gautam Gambhir, instructing the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to investigate potential money laundering activities. The court found the previous discharge order inadequate, highlighting Gambhir’s financial dealings related to a real estate project and the need for further scrutiny.
The Maharashtra government informed today (24th Oct) the Supreme Court that it plans to transfer the next portion of land for a new Bombay High Court building in Bandra by December. The special bench noted that the state has not yet taken possession of the Air India building for the mediation center’s relocation.
On Monday (1st April): The Allahabad High Court scheduled a hearing on April 4 to consider the maintainability of a legal plea demanding the removal of the Shahi Idgah Mosque, allegedly encroaching on the land of the sacred Krishna Janmabhoomi site in Mathura. The mosque’s trust argued that the lawsuits seeking its removal are not legally valid, citing laws protecting the mosque. The court’s next hearing is set for April 4.
