The Maharashtra government terminated the services of two members of the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) here in connection with bail given to a juvenile accused in the Pune Porsche crash case, officials said Today (Oct 10). A probe panel of the state Women and Child Development (WCD) Department had recommended action against the two members – L N Danwade and Kavita Thorat – for alleged “procedural lapses, misconduct and non-compliance with norms”.

[Pune Porsche Crash] Minor’s Remand, Parents’ Custody Extended Until June 12th

The Juvenile Justice Board in Pune has extended the remand of the teenager involved in a fatal car crash until June 12, along with the police custody of his parents. The police reported that the mother’s blood samples were used to replace the teenager’s after the accident. Multiple individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, including those accused of serving alcohol to the juvenile. Additionally, allegations have been made against the grandfather for tampering with evidence. Bail was initially granted to the teenager, but public outcry led to an extension of his remand. The police also requested an extension of the parents’ custody. Doctors and a hospital employee were arrested for allegedly replacing the minor’s blood samples to show he was not intoxicated, with one doctor allegedly in contact with the teen’s father. The mother was arrested for conspiracy, and the court extended the custody of the doctors and the hospital employee until June 7.
