Maha Kumbh 2025 || “Lakhs Of Ordinary People & Families Forced to Defecate in Open”: NGT Seeks UP’s Response

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) sought a response from the Uttar Pradesh government regarding open defecation at the Maha Kumbh Mela. A petition was filed demanding Rs. 10 crore as environmental compensation for inadequate sanitation facilities. The plea argues that the government’s failure to provide proper amenities has harmed the environment. The tribunal directed the state to clarify its stance on the issue.

VIP Treatment To Actor Dileep Blocked Other Pilgrims’ Darshan At Sabarimala: High Court

The Kerala High Court Today (Dec 12) termed as “very very serious” the “VIP darshan” provided to actor Dileep at the Lord Ayyappa shrine in Sabarimala recently and said that it resulted in pilgrims being “virtually blocked” from getting darshan of the deity for several minutes. A bench of Justices Anil K Narendra and Muralee Krishna S said it was “not a question of two minutes” when the first two rows in front of the ‘Sopanam’ were “choked” for several minutes to allow the actor to get darshan.
